How to convert WebP to JPG
- Click the box above or drag your WebP files onto it. You can add several at once.
- Optionally adjust the quality slider — 80–90% is a good balance of size and sharpness.
- Each image is converted to JPG immediately. The new file size is shown next to the original.
- Click Download on a single file or Download all to save everything.
Why convert WebP to JPG?
- An image saved from the web came out as .webp and you need a file that opens everywhere — older Windows apps, Word, printers and photo kiosks all handle JPG.
- You want the smallest widely-compatible file for email or messaging.
- A marketplace or social site rejected your WebP upload.
What is WebP?
WebP is a modern format created by Google for the web. It supports both lossy and lossless compression as well as transparency, and a WebP image is typically 25–35% smaller than an equivalent JPG. Every current browser can display it, but some older desktop apps and upload forms still reject it. It is best for website images where page speed matters.
What is JPG?
JPG (also written JPEG) is the most widely supported photo format in the world. It uses lossy compression, which throws away fine detail the eye is unlikely to notice so that files stay small. It does not support transparency, so transparent areas become a solid colour. It is best for photos, email attachments, and anywhere maximum compatibility matters.

Private by design
Many online converters upload your photos to a remote server, process them there, and keep a copy for some period of time. This tool works differently: the conversion code runs inside your browser tab, using the same image engine your browser already uses to display pictures. Your WebP files are read from your disk, re-encoded as JPG in memory, and handed straight back to you. Nothing is sent over the network, which makes the tool safe for personal photos, ID scans and work documents — and it keeps working even if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Tips for the best results
- For photos, 80–90% quality is usually indistinguishable from 100% at a fraction of the size.
- Very large images (above about 50 megapixels) may fail on phones with limited memory. Try a computer, or shrink them first with the Image Resizer.
- Need a smaller file instead of a different format? Use the Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
Is this WebP to JPG converter free?
Yes. It is completely free with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens inside your web browser using the built-in Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, which also makes it fast.
Can I convert many WebP files at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many files as you like, then use "Download all" to save every converted JPG.
Will converting WebP to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of detail is discarded. At the default 90% quality the difference is very hard to see. Raise the slider to 100% for maximum quality or lower it for smaller files.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with white.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in any modern browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge — on phones, tablets and computers.
